RESOURCES FOR PARENTS
RESOURCES FOR PARENTS
The development of the education system has not replaced the role of the parents in deciding what their young ones are being taught. The education your child receives will set the groundwork for future successes. You have the legal right and the moral obligation to be aware of the school curricula, and we are here to facilitate your understanding of the SRA education taught through our Think Twice Healthy Relationships program.
No matter the choices made by your teen so far, past sexual experiences, orientation or faith, Think Twice program has valuable, empowering information delivered to your teen in an interesting and interactive fashion.
Think Twice has a supportive and constructive approach which is designed to help your teen reach his/her maximum potential as a human being.
Medical care does not replace parenting and open discussions about sex, drugs, smoking, alcohol, etc. Think Twice encourages parents to talk to their children about the consequences of their activities and help teens set proper boundaries to protect their physical and emotional health.
What are they teaching them at school?
When it comes to sex ed in schools, there are mainly two approaches:
TPP education: assumes that teenagers will become sexually active prematurely regardless the risks, so the only solution for preventing the effects of premature sex is to teach them to use protection for "safe sex". However, the HHS reports have showed that this is not the case, as more than 80% of students in these programs fared either worse or no better than their peers who were not in the program.
SRA Education: believes than when informed accurately about the lifetime-long damaging effects of premature sex on their minds and bodies, teens will choose to delay their sexual experience until they are engaged in a monogamous life-long relationship, rather than exposing themselves to the risks. States that Teach SRA Education have lower teen birth rates, have experienced a dramatic Increase in Percent of High School Students Who Have Not Had Sex (28%) and delaying sex has significantly increased among teenagers aged 15-17.
